Apple-and Mushroom Smothered Turkey Burgers

Ingredients

1½ lb ground turkey
½ cup flour
1 Tbsp Montreal steak seasoning
1 large egg
1 tsp salt
3 Tbsp oil
1 (16-oz) pkg sliced mushrooms
1 red onion, sliced
1 tsp dried thyme
2 apples, chopped (such as Granny Smith)
2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar

Directions

Combine ground turkey, flour, seasoning, egg, and ½ tsp salt in a large bowl. Shape mixture into 6 patties.

Heat 1 Tbsp oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add half of burgers, and cook 5 to 6 minutes per side or until no longer pink in center. Remove from skillet, and keep warm.

Repeat procedure with 1 Tbsp oil and remaining burgers.

Heat 1 Tbsp oil in skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms, onion and thyme; cook, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes or until just tender. Add apple, and cook, stirring occasionally, 3 minutes longer. Stir in vinegar.

Serve mushroom mixture over burgers.
